Fuente de Plaza de la Magdalena (Lateral)
Historical Data

Esta zona cuenta hoy día con dos fuentes, si bien, originariamente sólo contaba con un pequeño abrevadero de piedra de mina, de pilón octogonal y pilar central de mampostería.

Description

This fountain was called "de la Salud" because it was erected in front of the Cemetery of Health, after the discovery of a spring in this place. But when it ran out, the fountain was moved to the Plaza de la Magdalena.
This basin was replaced by the current octagonal water trough and a raised central pillar decorated with pinjantes, both made of gray granite. Four jets pour the water into the bowl from the top of the central pillar.
